Elkhart Dunlap United Methodist Church is a welcoming and loving congregation that seeks to help everyone grow in their relationship with God and experience Jesus Christ and his power to transform their lives.
With a rich history dating back to 1854, we are known for our music ministry (including a chancel, handbell, and children’s choir as well as a brass ensemble), an active scouting troop, and an annual 20,000 item cookie walk that raises funds for ministry and missions, and an active & growing Preschool.
A core value of the people of DUMC is to be a service oriented community supporting local agencies such as Church Community Services, Salvation Army, Susanna’s Kitchen, Bashor Children’s home, and also the United Methodist Advance Special Mission projects around the world.

Dunlap United Methodist Preschool
Dating back to 1954, the Dunlap United Methodist Preschool has a longstanding reputation for offering caring instruction to each child who comes through the doors. This is a Christian preschool operated as a part of the Christian education department of the Dunlap United Methodist Church. The preschool committee which is made up of members approved by the Dunlap United Methodist Church is also the governing board of the preschool and its staff. Registration is now open for the Fall of 2024-2025 school year. 3-year-olds need to be 3 by August 1st and must be potty trained ; 4 year olds need to be 4 by August 1st. If you know anyone looking for a preschool, send them our way! Registration forms are available on our website, or people can stop by the church office.
Philosophy: To seek to understand and love each child as an individual and serve all children with dedication.
Purpose: *To help each child adapt to the world outside one’s family and home.
*To help each child interact with children of one’s own age (communication, sharing, and loving). *To help each child follow instructions from adults other than parents. *To help each child possess good self-esteem.
Goals: Promote the maximum in
*Social, intellectual, and physical development *Emotional maturity *Promote growth in visual and auditory perception. *Expose children to letters and numbers. *Develop large and fine motor skills. *Role play and increase a child’s interest span.
General Requirements: All children must be 3 years old by August 1 to be admitted to the preschool class or they must be 4 years old by August 1 to be admitted to the pre-kindergarten class. The preschool will need to be provided a current immunization and birth certificate records to be eligible for our program. ALL CHILDREN MUST BE POTTY TRAINED.
You may pay your Monthly Tuitionhere. Tuition is $140 a month and is due on the 1st of each month October – May. If your tuition payment is late, a $10 late fee will be assessed to your account.

Please note: There is a 3% Convenience Fee added to your total when you pay online.If you wish to avoid this fee, you may pay your fee at the church M-TH 8-3 (closed for lunch 12-1) or F 8-12

Wednesday Night Meal Preparation & Serving
Each Wednesday evening during the school year we provide dinner before our evening ministries. We are looking for families, individuals, and groups who would be willing to sign up to plan, prepare and serve those meals. Find a group of friends and sign up to serve a meal once or maybe even once a month!
